Disabled Facilities
On arriving at the stadium all away supporters who have pre arranged disabled parking are provided with a parking permit and are guided to their space by a Parking Steward. Although there are in excess of 60 disabled parking spaces for home supporters as demand is so high they are provided on a season long permit basis via an assessment process to season ticket holders – Matching those with the greatest need with a space along side the stand in which they hold their season ticket. (All disabled spaces available for concerts / functions and conferencing). There are additional spaces issued on a match by match basis for home disabled supporters at a charge of £10 per game for temporary disabled, non season ticket holders and for those unsuccessful in obtaining a season long permit. At the outset of each season a new assessment process will be complete allowing new season ticket holders with a disability to apply. There is also a pick up / drop off zone within the stadium for all disabled / blue badge holders. For clients that have a hearing impairment there are hearing aid loops in the ticket office and main reception. In March 2006 the Stadium will be introducing a number of FM radios for the visually impaired with full match commentary. One of the Stadiums greatest new facilities is the Premier Club which is universally available for all supporters, disabled included (please see Premier Club for all charges). There are seats in Gold and Platinum with FREE carer spaces. Additionally if you wanted to take advantage of one of the Hospitality packages offered by both the Ospreys and Swans these are accessible for all supporters. The Liberty stadium boasts a massive 252 wheelchair seats with an additional 252 spaces for family and carers. They are located throughout the stadium – All the way around the ground and first floor allowing disabled supporters the freedom to choice any block of seats in any stand in the stadium. Access to the first floor is made via one of eight key locked disabled lifts which are managed by stewards at all times. Additionally in the main West Stand there are a further two passenger lifts with full access of all three floors. The West Stand also holds fantastic conferencing facilities with accessible bars and toilets within a short distance. Within each stand there are a number of disabled toilets (all with emergency pull cords) within a short distance and each one is locked using the ‘Radar’ scheme ensuring they are exclusive for disabled users. Each steward holds a key for the toilets. Finally the Stadium has a dedicated Disability Liaison Officer who continually monitors the facilities offered and ensures the Liberty Stadium remains as one the leading venues for Sports, Concerts and conferencing in the UK. |
