Back the Swans into second against Millwall

Back the Swans into second against Millwall
Friday 10 Dec 2010 [12:35]

Swansea City return to Liberty action tonight with Millwall the next challengers for Brendan Rodgers' side.

Former Swans boss Kenny Jackett brings his squad to south west Wales on the back of a weekend which saw both club's win in front of the live Sky cameras.

The Lions were 3-0 victors against struggling Scunthorpe in the tea time kick-off, whilst Swansea were successful at Ipswich a few hours earlier.

And with rivals Cardiff dropping points at home to Preston there is a chance for the Swans to climb in to their highest league position since the early 1980s.

A win against Millwall would, albeit temporarily, send the Swans up into the automatic promotion places for the Premier League - which would be the highest league placing since dropping out of the top-flight back in May 1983.

If Cardiff were to draw at Middlesbrough the following day then they would climb back into second, but victory tonight would mark an importatn period in the club's recent history.

And tickets for the game are still available - either from the Ticket Office or online.
